DIY alert!

I couldn't resist posting this photo of Matthew back in the day. Bondo- I think we used that also on the "wings" of the '76 Cadillac. I believe I have a photo in the archives with Debra, Matthew, and Nathan all sporting 80's chic in the form of knee-high tube socks. I'll have to find it!

  1. That was the Mercedes I bid on at salvage yard in Sacramento. While I was at 58th St. some gypsies came by and offered to straighten out the body of the car for a $100 or so (I initially thought they were Mexican). The next thing I know we were on M St. by the school in a ridiculous scene. They tied one end of a chain to the bent car frame and the other end to a telephone pole. They nearly toppled the telephone pole, so I gave them $50 and told them that was enough work for one day.

  2. Matt, I had no idea! what a story!!! It made my day to read about this. It reminds me of something that Uncle Tom would be a part of including the matter-of-fact delivery of the tale!

  3. There were many previous signs that Matt would grow up to be a yuppie, but buying that mercedes made me realize i was in denial.
