Happy July Fourth!

Hi All: It's been a long time since the Truckee Lewis' have updated...We are enjoying a relatively calm (knock on wood!) summer with unseasonably cool and lovely weather. Mom is recovering from her life and death battle this winter with 70 days of hospitalizations. Dad and I are recovering, too! So we are very thankful to be at this place. I'm taking two summer school classes

(getting the units up!). On the subject of freedom and tolerance (great American values) I took the step of donating a great book to my college library this summer: "It Gets Better," a grassroots effort that has gone global, with the goal of supporting teens who are LGBT. Dan and Terry, the originators of the concept, posted a YouTube video in light of the rash of teen suicides resulting from bullying and intolerance. More videos were posted, they have a website (http://www.itgetsbetter.org./) and book and have a goal of distributing the book to school libraries across the country. It's only $12 on Amazon, and has stories from celebs, politicians, and regular people with encouraging words and support for at-risk youth.
