New Digs

Joy and I just bought a new house in Seymour, CT. New to us, anyhow. It was built in the mid 1700's before the U.S. was a nation. Closing is on October 30th. Unfortunately, I don't have photos of the front of the house. they took the listing and photos off the realtor's website. These were photos I took.

The library (much needed for us)

View from the deck, the 3 car garage we plan to convert into my studio. the land behind the garage is ours as well, all the way to the trees. We're pretty excited.

Humane Society

Hi- Thought you might enjoy seeing some photos of Art Bark Fest. It's a fundraising event held  every fall to support the Humane Society. I worked at the raffle booth today with other Humane Society volunteers. Lots of people and dogs, and a beautiful warm day in the mountains. Geneva

Ravioli etc.

So this is a picture taken yesterday; before class I made a batch of spinach ravioli and to the right are sheets of pasta drying for linguine. I would love to see pictures of your favorite foods! That's my algebra book on the table. I'm hoping that if it's open I will learn through osmosis but it hasn't happened yet. Geneva

The cover of the local paper in the town of the residency.

A plein Air painting of the historic house I donated to the museum there.

Joy and some friends drove up for a visit.

There was abundant wildlife. you can see a deer in the distance.

There were frogs everywhere.

I found this little newt under some bark of a dead tree.

These are pics from the artist residency I had at Weir Farm in Wilton, CT. The local paper did a story on my stay. J. Alden Weir, a 19th century artist, lived on this property. It has since become a national park and they offer the cottage and studio to an artist for 2 weeks to a month for free. I was there in 2nd half of July. I did a lot of hiking and hunting for reptiles and amphibians. I did a little painting as well.

His Bark is worse than his Bite

Freindly tree at Sleeping Giant in Hamden, CT.

Back To School!

Hello, everyone. Here's a picture of me with my new glasses, which have hopefully increased my I.Q.- or at least the perception thereof. This week I'm back at college for fall semester- English, History, and Algebra. Wish me luck! Geneva.
Hi all! Dad wanted to share his official DRI photo and we have now figured out how to properly do this! (oops). Dad is giving a talk at UW-Madison soon about the satellite meteorology expert Verner Suomi- a memorial in a sense, in anniversary of the program with other invited speakers. He has just finished a lengthy history of science paper about Dr. Suomi with several co-authors.
