Ok-Finally on vacation, I have been enjoying catching up with the family blog, listening to my Annie soundtrack on itunes (true confessions- I was a child of the 80's- is it wrong to have a crush on Albert Finney as Daddy Warbucks?) and all the doings posted- the adorable new dog for the Muscovite Lewis', Nathan and Joy's spectacular Thanksgiving feast, Nathan's painting videos, and Clay's ordeal, showcasing his bravery and aplomb with an extremely tough medical situation (and a sense of humor- I guess I can see even more how he and Gene are such a great pair!). There's also some yodeling! Well, I am ashamed that I don't have a single great photo- of my trip to LA that took place a week and a half ago. I was too busy dodging traffic disasters, and I even felt like a local when a foul-tempered British woman rapped the Subaru and screamed at me to STOP. It's been calm back home, we're very thankful to all be here and enjoying each other's company. In that spirit, we dusted of the board games this weekend and even though we missed the alliances and accusations and laughter of the whole Lewis clan, we managed to play a pretty decent game of Balderdash. I didn't remember any of the rules- but basically there is a weird word, a real definition, and then every player comes up with a faux definition knowing only the word. Each guess for the real definition gets 2 points. 2 points go to the "dasher" (the person who reads the definitions and knows the "real" definition) if no one guesses the real definition. And one point to each player when someone guessed their made-up definition. So, in the spirit of the season and the Lewis game playing tradition- let's play. This was our most bizarre segment- care to guess what's real?
