Crossroads

Here is the time lapse video of the sculpture project. Roland and I got it up in the gallery on Saturday. I have one more day to finish a couple of paintings for the show at Windsor Art Center. I've jotted down some thoughts about the sculpture if you care to read them, on my art website.

The other artist I"m showing with came to see us install, because after hearing about it, she was worried the piece might overwhelm her pieces. With good reason, the thing looks so much bigger indoors.

  1. A good explanation of the relationship between the installation and the painting. Really great to see the process in time lapse - makes you realize how much is involved.

  2. Wow! Thanks for sharing with us. You are a carpenter as well as an artist, Nathan! I liked the interplay of creating and finished product. I haven't read your comments yet about the sculpture, but it made me think of a few things- travelers- directions-confusion-searching. We're all sojourners- will we find "the place"? What is the place? I love this concept. As for the artist who was afraid about your work overwhelming her pieces....my best advice would be from the playbook of Satchel Paige "don't look back, something might be gaining on you!"

  3. Nathan- as well as being a brilliant artist, you're a jack-of-all trades. The time-lapse photography really blew me away. Thanks for the wonderful wedding pictures. We certainly enjoyed them and you and Joy looked so happy. Love, Sherry
